The last booth I stopped by was the Luffa Gardens. Most people are unaware that loofah sponges are part of the cucumber family and grow on a vine. Which is terrible news to someone like me who wants to grow my own loofahs, but can not for the life of me grow cucumbers. They have a farm in or around Fresno where they also grow hay and raise cows.
It’s a numbers game, and this first quarter event is just good enough to stay on my calendar. This event isn’t great, and the 3 day event does require some patience to get through. However, the crowd is significant, they aren’t stopped by a bit of rain, and the event always delivers a good result.

Last week I attended my first garden expo ever, I'm planning to attend more, they're fun. With over 500 vendors, I was overwhelmed and honestly not expecting there to be SO many people knowing that it was going to rain. The trade show included many home vendors for cabinets, counters, blinds, roofing, etc. While I felt their weren't as many garden related vendors. I had 5 booths in mind that I wanted to stop and talk to whom I knew were going to be attending the event.

Exhibitors are expected to display their products and services. Another vendor in my building was selling bottle openers with an under-powered magnet hidden under a decorative tin that was glued to the cheap wood that mounted the bottle opener. I think they were $15 each, or 3 for $30. Note that I had no Magic Bottle Openers to bring … and I haven’t made any since, either.
This is the BIG SHOW - Come early and plan on spending the whole day; take a break at one of the Food Courts or visit the Food Trucks!
